Inception
There is a
beginning to every aspect of life, acknowledging your existence, building trust
with your own, learning your capabilities & so on. Widening the frame of
reference leads us to the build of the society itself, various unwritten rules that
are religiously followed and/or not followed, foundation of principles
distinguishing the right from wrong and the list continues. Going a little
further backwards would get us to the inception of human civilization.
Over the years,
the field of science has claimed many breakthroughs about the evolution, about
how it all came into existence, the life as we know it. The facts so far,
suggest that our planet is around four & a half billion years old, a huge
sphere with extremely high temperatures with no life. Over a period of first billion
years, the temperature came down and further got down low to negative degrees
in the next one. By the end of it, the humongous sphere turned crystal; the
majority of the terrain was covered with thick sheets of ice. It would have
been in the same state, if it weren’t for the volcanoes. One among the
deadliest eruptions took place during this period that eventually melted down
into huge water bodies all across the globe. And thus began life, in the form
of unicellular organisms.
It is quite
surprising to acknowledge the fact that the ancestors of all the species could
be bacteria, fungus or other families of single celled organisms. The evolution
began from single to multi-cellular and so on to form much more complex organisms,
currently known as the ancient aquatic creatures from 600 million years ago.
From the waters, these creatures evolved into animals on land & thus, to
people.
